Class 33 - BRCW Type 3 - Bo-Bo

Sub Class 33/0.

Members of are: 33019, 33021, 33025, 33026, 33030, 33046 and 33051.

Sub Class 33/1.

Fitted with Buckeye Couplings and Southern Region (SR) Multiple Working Equipment for use with SR EMUs, TC stock and class 73s. Also fitted with flashing light adaptor for use on the Weymouth Key line. One loco: 33116.

Sub Class 33/2.

Built to former loading guage of the Tonbridge to Battle (Hastings) line. All equiped with slow speed control. Affectionately known as "Slim Jims." Now only two members 33202 and 33208.


Class 33 Photographs.

33102 at Salisbury33102 stabled at Salisbury on the 18th March 1992. This locomotive has been withdrawn. The 33's also worked the London Waterloo to Exeter route along with the 47/7s and Class 50s. 33103 and 33201 EastleighA couple of Class 33s 33103 and "Slim Jim" 33201 wait between duties with a Class 37a and two 47s at Eastleigh Depot (near Southampton). These locos are in the old Civil Engineers CE Livery. Taken on the 4th March 1993.
33103 at Exeter33103 runs into the engine shed at Exeter St. Davids. January 1992. 33021 at Kingswear33021 pauses at Kingswear on the Paignton to Kingswear preserved railway. This locomotive and 33050 was part of the Diesel Gala on the 20th June 1992.
33021 at KingswearAnother shot of 33021 at Kingswear as it leaves the station with 33050 for Paignton on the 20th June 1992. 33021 is stored at Eastleigh and 33050 has been withdrawn. 33008 "Eastleigh" at Eastleigh33008 (D6508) "Eastleigh" in Green at Eastleigh depot open day on the 27th September 1992.
33035 at Eastleigh33035 newly painted in Network Southeast Livery on the 27th September 1992 at Eastleigh Depot. 33030 at Salisbury33030 stands at Salisbury Station stabling point on the 22nd May 1993.
