• Built by ABB Transportation Derby 1995.
• New units built for Royal Mail services based on Class 319.
• GTO Thyristor control, with tightlock couplers, disc brakes and compatibility with diesel locomotive haulage.
• Can work on 25 kV a.c. overhead or 750 V d.c. third rail.
• Four GEC G315BY traction motors of 247.5 kW.
• Bogies P7-4 (MPMV), T3-7 (others).
• Gangways none.
• Roller Shutter doors.
• Dimensions 19.83 x 2.82 m (outer cars), 19.92 x 2.82 m (inner cars).
• Maximum Speed 100 mph.

Units numbers are: 325001-325016. All in Royal Mail livery and based at Crewe Electric (CE) depot.
